Summer students exchange program:
Medical University "Prof.d-r Paraskev Stoyanov"-Varna –North-Western State Medical University named after I.I.Mechnikov
Over the five years it has been successfully implementing the academic mobility program between Medical University "Prof.d-r Paraskev Stoyanov"-Varna, Bulgaria and NWSMU named after I.I.Mechnikov. This year our University received 13 students and 2 supervisors for summer practice held at the Surgical Department № 2 under the auspice of Ph.D. Dr. D.Gurzhiy, Cardiology Department headed by Ph.D. Dr. N.Shvets, SIE «Dentistry institute» and Dentistry Department.
Additionally, students visited the simulation center where they could master the practical skills of resuscitation, delivering a baby and other medical manipulations. Together with the educational process, students were provided with the rich cultural program: excursion to the University history museum and museum of hygiene, sport festival, sightseeing tour and etc.
In turn, 15 students and PhD. E.Yvdoshenko, as supervisor, were sent to Medical University "Prof.d-r Paraskev Stoyanov"- Varna. During the traineeship students conducted the medical examination of pregnant patients, assisted on cesarean section and other manipulations. Moreover, students managed to master the skills on Simbionix simulator for carrying out laparoscopic surgeries, whereas preventive medicine students got acquainted with the basic principles of healthcare organization of Varna, visited the center for individuals with disabilities and Association for the protection of women's rights. The students of the NWSMU were fascinated by their free time: visit to the Museum of the History of Medicine in Varna and small board tour.
We express hope for the further development of friendly and mutually fruitful relations between our Universities.
